The P&C Association is a group of volunteers, working together to improve and enhance the facilities and opportunities available at the school for our children. By participating in the P&C, you are supporting the school community, and in return, you are supported to learn skills and take on new responsibilities. It gives you an opportunity to share in the school's decision-making process and help shape the school's future and your contribution can be as large or as small as you can manage.
At Tewantin State School we have been fortunate to have a very pro-active and committed P&C Association over many years. This has only been possible with the continuing support and participation of our students, their families, the local community and a collaborative partnership with our whole school team.
What does our P&C do?
We run various fundraising events each year, such as Mother's Day and Fathers Day's stalls, Discos, Book Fair, Morning Teas, Sports Carnival Canteens and the Spring Fair which is our annual school fete.
Our P&C also operate the Tuckshop, Uniform Shop and the Outside School Hours Care service (OSHC). Not only do these operations provide essential services for our families, but the profits generated are invested back into the school.
We meet 2 - 3 times per term in the Library. The dates and times are published on the Tewantin State School P&C Facebook page and the School Newsletter. At these meetings, we review reports, plan upcoming events discuss issues presented by members, parents or the School Leadership Team. Everyone is welcome to attend and encouraged to contribute.
If you've never volunteered before, your school's P&C is a terrific place to start. It's fun, inspiring, very rewarding and a great way to meet other parents, forge friendships and make a meaningful contribution to your child's school and education.
