The Weaver Bursary

Mr Walter Theo Weaver, from Brighton Victoria, was a regular holiday visitor to Tewantin after World War II.
From 1953 to 1959 Mr Weaver personally gave money to be used to help further the education of Tewantin students going on to High School. Before his death in 1960 Mr Weaver set up the Walter Theo Weaver Bursary and the Vivienne Genevieve Weaver Library Fund. Eventually $20,000 was handed over to the public trustee in Brisbane for investment. It is the interest of these monies that fund our annual Bursary Awards.
Each year, following extensive language and mathematics exams, a student is awarded The Weaver Bursary.
