Learning in the Health and Physical Education area at Tewantin State School aims:

  • To create an atmosphere which encourages children to participate, both in and out of school time, in a wide range of physical activities including play, games, dance, aquatics, sport, outdoor education, leisure and recreation.
  • To promote self-confidence and positive attitudes towards physical activity.
  • To promote skill development and improved fitness.
  • To develop social skills such as co-operation, leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship.

All students in Prep – Year 6 participate in weekly Physical Education classes with the Physical Education Teacher. Students in Prep – Year 6 participate in swimming lessons separate to their Physical Education classes. Swimming is run during Terms 1 and 4 with our magnificent swimming instructors, all of whom are family members and are proudly guided by Head Coach, Greg Rogers. They bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our program and are a huge asset to our school.
