Volunteering

It is volunteers that help our school to grow and prosper.  Volunteers are the backbones of the Tewantin State School community, and they work silently in the background to keep things moving along. Volunteers run the uniform shop, assist in the Pelicans' Tuckshop, fundraise for improvements and support our teaching staff.

We ask each family to consider being a volunteer throughout the year, something in which you can participate and lend a hand.  It could be the school disco, working bee or a few hours in the Tuckshop. Volunteering is a great way to be involved in our school and also meet likeminded parents and community members.

Here are some examples of regular volunteering opportunities that exist in our school. We gratefully appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Tuckshop

The Tuckshop relies heavily on volunteers and anyone is welcome. Parents, grandparents and community members are encouraged to get in touch with us to join our Tuckshop roster.

No experience is needed, and we welcome any time you can give, whether it be for 30 minutes after school drop off, a few hours or all day. Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents and become part of the TSS community.

We need help from 8:30am until 1:45pm. Duties include placing stickers on bags, serving students, packing lunch bags, making sandwiches or baking muffins. For more information please contact operations@tsspandc.com.au

P&C Committee Members

Our P&C plays an essential role in our school community, and is dedicated to providing students with the best possible learning environment. To become involved simply attend one of the P&C meetings held in our school library once a month. After you have attended your first P&C meeting you are then eligible to vote at future meetings. For more information please contact operations@tsspandc.com.au

Working Bee

The run a working bee 2 – 4 times a year. Come join us and become part of the Tewantin State School  community that meets up to maintain the school gardens. Bring the kids and any gardening equipment you have. Everyone is welcome.

P&C Events

The P&C run events each year including discos, movie nights, sports day canteens and various fundraising activities. Volunteers are essential for these events to go ahead. Duties could include serving food, selling products, collecting money or selling items. Fun is guaranteed and it is also great to watch our students having such a wonderful time!
