Tewantin State School holds a Junior Sports Day each year. Students in Prep - Year 3 participate in a selection of fun sports activities and races.
Students are placed in sports houses at the time of their enrolment (Cooroibah - Red, Doonella - Green, Laguna - Blue, Weyba - Yellow) and are encouraged to wear their sports colours on the day, however there is no formal competition between the houses at this level.
Prep - Year 1 students participate in games including egg and spoon race, sack race, chicken relay and bouncey ball race then move on to their 60 metre race.
Years 2 and 3 students participate in field events including High jump, Long Jump, Vortex throwing, Sack races and Tug-of-war. Track events include relays, 80 metre sprints and 250 metre dash for cash.
